Went to an art show and found heaven...

So over the weekend, I went to an art show featuring myself and about 34 other artists. It was all about "small works" and 12 x 12 or under. It was at Mingo Gallery/Custom Framing in Beverly, Ma. (which is near the witch town of Salem and on the coastline in the great state of Tax-a-chusetts). I had sent in about 6 pieces, ranging from the collage prints to my bored pen and ink colorings of  my "Ladies of the Line" series. I watch a lot of movies half heartly and absent mindedly draw on things....I can hardly ever focus. Mingo is co-owned by a friend of mine, Kate and her boyfriend, George. It's in a really great spot amongst the old store fronts of Beverly's downtown area and was bustling with people and activity upon my arrival.

All in all it was a pretty rad time, as I brought the ever poignant Courtney (her banter is legendary) and we got to lookin' at some of them artworks. I was really impressed by a guy named Eben Kling. He had up a few pen and ink drawings that i took an instant liking to.( He lives in Northampton,MA-which is the next town over from me, go figure.)

Another artist i found interesting was Chelsea Granger.

I sucked down 2 Pabst- hey, they were free, thirst quenching and tasty all the same and then decided to hit the town and that is when we found "Heaven".

"Heaven" was a Savers, a Used Bookstore and an Ocean State Job Lot. Which we found after getting lost in the 4.2 miles we traveled from the Art show to Savers. (Maps are dumb and we hate each other.) I picked up two 45's from the Peter Parker "Singing Canaries" collection and a 60's Horse Painting for my 50's western infused living room.. We then completes our 2 hour and a sandlot forever drive back to western mass and promptly had a pajamy jam jam jammer, complete with a viewing of "9 to 5"- featuring a buxom Dolly Parton (add in a wanting to visit Dollywood) and some warm, sweet dog farts to the face. (Mr. Bones is a lovely man and i appreciated his comfort level with me).

Ok...Now here i am as a deer:

I have more to add to this guy, I just wanted to see how he did on paper paper paper....

"UN-named street soldier, you took cover in a house on fire" Named for the stray dead cat we found in my basement last week. Poor little guy.

"Osos Andinos' Reign during the Age of Mineral Wealth"

Hello...I like paper. Paper you say? How weird...or not.
It's not.
I have been working on a few pieces for an art show that opens tomorrow. I am a terrible procrastinator, so it took me a sandlot forever to get these things finally printed and shipped. i really need to work on not playing with my cats when i should be doing important things like: waking up on time and not 5 mins before I'm supposed to leave, laundry, personal hygiene-ing....you know, important things? The last image is of a card i made, where the deer and underbrush portion slide across and moves. There's no reason for this, except for my amusement and hopefully others.
